Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of recent acute care L&D experience and BLS/NRP certification.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital with Level 3 NICU and Level 4 acute care support
• High-volume unit with approximately 8,000 deliveries per year
• Patient ratio of 2 patients on L&B, or 3-4 patients on Antepartum L&B
• Uses IV therapy and fetal monitoring equipment
• EMR system is EPIC (experience preferred)
• Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required
• Float requirements customary within scope as needed, including between Antepartum and L&B

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or compact) required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• C-EFM and Intermediate AWHONN FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Labor & Delivery/Birth experience required
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage laboring patients, including high-risk obstetric cases
• Strong skills in fetal monitoring and interpretation, labor support and coaching, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Experience managing obstetric emergencies and rapid response situations
• Experience working in a team-based, high acuity environment
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and immediate postpartum patients
• Collaborate closely with obstetric providers, anesthesia, NICU, and interdisciplinary teams
• Work well within a team environment while also functioning independently
• Ability to adapt quickly to new workflows, policies, and electronic medical records
• Black scrub color required
• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with client-approved exemptions only
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed, must be made up during the assignment
• Accepts local candidates within 50 miles of the facility at a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts, after which a 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required
