Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Charge Nurse for the Operating Room, requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of charge/lead experience in a trauma center setting.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a trauma center at an acute care hospital
• Day shift, 5x8s, Monday through Friday, 0500 to 1700 with rotating schedule and start times
• No on-call requirements
• Requires EPIC experience

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/experience required
• Minimum 2 years of charge/lead nursing experience required
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required, with recent experience in the specialty within the last 3 months
• Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
• Trauma center experience preferred
• EPIC experience required, and must be documented in employment history

Additional Information

• Provides unit-based leadership in collaboration with Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff
• Supervises and directs nursing and ancillary personnel using professional and supervisory discretion
• Coordinates care planning conferences with healthcare team members, patients, and families
• Monitors staff performance to ensure quality patient care and safety
• Participates in direct patient care as needed
• Fosters a patient and family-centered care environment with attention to cultural diversity
• Makes rounds to assess patient care needs and introduce self to patients and families
• Investigates and resolves patient care and operational issues
• Works to improve patient, family, and physician satisfaction in collaboration with leadership
• Facility is a Level III NICU and county-designated trauma center
• Located on the Central California Coast near beaches and a lively downtown community
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
