Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract requiring stroke/neuro experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Telemetry unit setting
• 12-hour day shifts starting at 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required, with priority given to float first as needed to like units within the health system
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted if permanent application is in process with proof of submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association preferred; American Red Cross accepted for BLS)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of stroke/neuro experience required
• Travel experience required
• New graduates will not be considered
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• Must pass an on-site EKG test on first day of orientation
• Epic experience must be documented in employment history
• Two current professional references from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge nurse in a relevant unit within the last year required
• A travel reference is preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to patients within the stroke/neuro population
• Orientation occurs every Monday with 16 hours of non-billable orientation
• EKG testing study materials will be provided prior to the on-site test
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated from employment for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
• RTO for 13-week contracts is limited to a maximum of 7 days
• A short facility interview (10-15 minutes) is required before placement
