Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment experience.

• 16-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
• 6:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:00)
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with orthopedic care including total joint replacement and assistive devices
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management and oxygen delivery
• Experience with GI care including PEG tube feeding and swallowing precautions
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to patients recovering from stroke, cardiac surgery, orthopedic surgery, and neurological conditions
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
• Must work 3 of the 5 winter holidays
• RTO requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be factored into total contract length
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, local candidates are not accepted
• Travel pairs considered on a case-by-case basis
• Facility housing available
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
