Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience and a PA or Compact RN license for a rotating shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Cares for cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, and ER holding patients
• Patient population includes cardiac, renal, neurological, and GI conditions requiring continuous monitoring
• Manages cardiac drips and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Rotating day and night shifts on a 3x12 hour schedule
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation)
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with wound care, IV insulin protocols, and pacemaker/cardiac cath care preferred
• Driver's license, SSN, and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response coordination
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Local candidates not accepted
• Candidates must be willing to work every other holiday
• Travel pairs may be considered based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible
• Travelers within the health system are limited to a cumulative one-year assignment period, followed by a required two-year break before returning
• Two professional supervisor references preferred
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
