Description

American Traveler is seeking a Behavioral Health RN for a float pool position requiring 2+ years of nursing experience and an MD or compact RN license.

Details

Float pool position covering all 19 inpatient behavioral health units, including child, adolescent, and adult populations
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Floating required to all age populations and units as scheduling needs dictate
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
May be required to work as charge RN during a shift
Uses Sunrise (Allscripts) EMR

Requirements

Active MD or compact RN license required, license must be in-hand at time of consideration
Current BLS certification
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
6 months to 1 year of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting required
Strong clinical judgement, assessment, delegation, and leadership skills required
Inpatient and locked unit treatment setting experience required
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Sunrise charting experience preferred
Fingerprinting must be completed in the state of Maryland via livescan prior to start

Work across multiple inpatient behavioral health units serving diverse age groups
Navy blue scrubs required

One pre-approved RTO request allowed, submitted with initial profile
Local candidates accepted
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Facility maintains a strict no-tolerance policy on marijuana use, including medical marijuana cards, due to addictions treatment programs
Candidates must pass drug screening on the first attempt to continue onboarding
Former permanent employees must wait one full year before applying for a travel position
Orientation occurs every other Thursday and includes required training modules
