Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of OR experience and a compact RN license for a multi-specialty surgical department.

Details

• Work in a 2-room Operating Room covering OBGYN, Ortho, GI/GS, ENT, Pain, and Dental specialties
• Assignment includes all surgery department areas: Pre/Post Op, Circulating, PACU, and Endo
• Patient ratios range from 1:1, 1:2, to 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts with possible 4x10 hour option
• Floating required between units
• On-call required with variable call on nights and weekends, approximately 8 shifts per month
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd or 4th weekend depending on scheduling and time off
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active Compact or MT RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in gynecological procedures including hysterectomy, tubal ligation, C-sections, and D&C
• Experience with general surgery procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair
• Experience with orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy and joint replacement
• Experience with endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and EGD
• ENT procedure experience including tonsillectomy and myringotomy preferred
• Proficiency with electrosurgical units, Hana Table, and Steris equipment
• Experience in conscious sedation monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and infection control
• Experience administering blood and blood products and starting peripheral IVs
• Knowledge of emergency management protocols including fire safety and malignant hyperthermia response
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and surgical support duties across a multi-specialty OR department
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
