Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN with an active PA or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications, and at least 1 year of telemetry nursing experience for a hospital-based position with a 1:5 patient ratio.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, MS/tele, GU/renal, neurological, and GI cases
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Rotating 3x12-hour day and night shifts
• Day shift 7:00-19:30 and night shift 19:00-7:30
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management required
• Experience managing respiratory equipment such as BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula preferred
• Experience with cardiac drip management and titration required
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD) preferred
• Must provide SSN, DOB, driver's license, and RTO at time of consideration
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, remote telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team coordination
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must be willing to float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
• Former permanent employees of the health system may not apply through an agency unless separated for at least 2 years
• Travelers who complete a cumulative year of assignments within the health system must take a two-year break before returning
• Can only be placed at one facility within the health system at a time
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to the start date
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
