Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience and current PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) setting within a children's hospital
• 8-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs
• Float requirement to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Unit may request a makeup shift within the same pay period for any call out or absence

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric hospital experience required
• 2 supervisory references required, with at least one from a manager or supervisor titled reference
• Skills in respiratory care including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway care
• Experience with cardiovascular care including congenital heart disease, hemodynamic monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and emergency medications

Additional Information

• No RTO permitted during this assignment
• Must be willing to sign for an 8-week contract and able to start on 11/16 or 12/7
• Candidates who previously worked perm for the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
• No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
• Floating is a strong point of emphasis and travelers must be prepared to work in different units as assigned
• No call/no shows are taken seriously, with progressive consequences for repeated offenses
• Travelers are considered late after 3 minutes
