Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Community hospital Emergency Department setting caring for complex medical patients
• All patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Average daily census of 130-150 patients with 21 rooms and 31 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Weekend coverage required every other Friday and Saturday night
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Cerner for documentation

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and medication administration required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Triage and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and CVA management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across general and pediatric ED settings for a wide range of complex medical cases
• Orientation lasts 36-48 hours
• Scrubs provided
• First-time travelers will be considered with 2-3 years of experience and either Epic or Cerner experience
• Returning staff must wait 1 year before becoming eligible to return as a traveler
• Standard contract length is 14 weeks
