Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN with a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and a WV or compact RN license for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Details

• Work in the Cath Lab unit of a hospital setting
• Scrubs and lead apron provided for cases
• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including PCI, left/right heart catheterizations, and electrophysiology procedures
• Day shift, 4x10 hour schedule, 7:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday
• Must be willing to accept an 84 hours per two week schedule (one week 3x12, next week 4x12)
• On-call required 1-2 times per week
• Weekend coverage required 1-2 times per month
• Float required within scope of practice
• Must reside within 30 minutes of facility for STEMI call response

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/EP experience required
• IR experience a plus
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, and vascular closure systems
• Experience with EP procedures including cardioversion and pacemaker insertion
• Skilled in procedural sedation monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and sheath removal/monitoring
• Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted, though medical and religious exemptions may be considered case by case
• Two professional references required, one from a charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor, both completed within the last year

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
• Assist with scrub and circulate duties during cath lab and EP cases
• Monitor and manage dysrhythmias, procedural sedation, and vascular access
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront; no changes accepted once approved
• Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Travelers who have worked a full year must take a minimum 6-month break before returning to the system
• Only minimal traveler pairs accepted, and pairs will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• First-time travelers may be considered given required experience is met
