Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring WI or compact RN license and prior experience across cardiac, spine, and neuro Med/Surg units.

Details

• Float position within the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Day/evening 12-hour shifts, 0700-1930
• Every other weekend and applicable holidays required
• Required to float as needed, including to Neuro and Oncology units
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Experience across different Med/Surg units including cardiac, spine, and neuro required
• Epic experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including strict rhythm identification criteria for both adult and pediatric exams
• Must achieve passing scores on telemetry exam within two to three attempts, with a cardiac interpretation review course required if a third attempt is needed
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across multiple Med/Surg specialties including cardiac, neuro stepdown, and telemetry oncology
• Position based at a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital ranked #1 in Wisconsin
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
• Experience with chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care, and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, and peripheral nerve block catheters preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, post-MI care, and renal failure management preferred
• Experience with pre/post neurosurgery and traumatic brain or spinal cord injury care preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
