Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and TNCC certification on night shifts.

Details

• 39-bed hospital emergency department serving Clare and surrounding central Michigan communities
• Night shift schedule (12-hour shifts)
• Required to work two weekends per month
• No on-call requirements
• Rotation includes coverage for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required (compact license not accepted)
• 2+ years of ER experience required
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA)
• Active TNCC certification required
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to ER specialty required
• Two supervisory reference forms (within the last 2 years) required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including triage, patient history, vital signs, and assessments
• Independently initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician
• Perform complex and simple nursing procedures and assist physicians with procedures
• Provide comfort and support to patients, families, and visitors
• Deliver discharge and follow-up instructions to patients and families
• Respond to ambulance radio communications and provide pre-hospital care orders independently
• Work with sophisticated medical equipment in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Travel experience and NRP certification highly preferred
• Maximum of 5 days of RTO can be requested
