Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night-shift position requiring float coverage to ARU and DOU units with a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit with mandatory float coverage to ARU and DOU within scope of practice
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Required every other weekend (Sunday nights do not count as weekend)
• Patient ratios of 1:3 in DOU and 1:5 in ARU, with general ratio experience of 1:4-5
• Travel pairs accepted though matching schedules are not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (CPI preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in feeding tube care, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care/management
• Competent in starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management
• Tracheostomy care and management experience required
• Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac
• Charting system experience required
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg and telemetry level nursing care with floating to higher acuity units as needed
• Completion of annual training modules required, averaging approximately 6 hours
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront with no exceptions
