Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Magnet-designated, Level 4 Trauma teaching hospital
• Unit includes 7 labor beds, 3 triage beds, 2 PACU beds, and 16 mother-baby beds
• Cares for adult women of childbearing age
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule, either 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Weekend shifts required unless otherwise specified on the posted schedule
• Floating within the hospital required, but not to sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and postpartum care required
• Experience with labor induction and management medications (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline, Prostaglandins) required
• Skilled in newborn care including APGAR scoring, cord care, and thermoregulation

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include vaginal and C-section delivery support, antepartum and postpartum care, and newborn assessment
• Manages high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor
• Provides pain management support including epidural and PCA administration
• Supports breastfeeding and lactation education for new parents
• First-time travelers considered only if they have 3+ years of L&D experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Maximum RTO of 1 week, and holiday coverage is required
• Prior staff members must have a separation period of 18 months before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Scrubs are provided for OR personnel
