Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU position requiring at least 1 year of telemetry/stepdown experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/telemetry nursing experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care experience including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients requiring step-down level cardiac and telemetry monitoring
• Responsibilities include managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA, and heparin protocols
• Experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury patients preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Returning Piedmont staff (perm/PRN/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or not approved for return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
