Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring CPI Blue Card certification and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a community hospital
• Handles a wide range of ER cases including trauma, cardiac, neuro, pediatric, and psychiatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• As needed call and floating requirements
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and CPI Blue Card (in-hand, MAB or online CPI not accepted)
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
• Two supervisor references required at time of application
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG, IV therapy, central line care, and emergency medication administration
• Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Manage high-acuity patients requiring continuous IV medications, procedural sedation, and emergency interventions
• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year to return as a traveler
• Prior travel nursing experience required for consideration
