Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Hospital-based Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
- 12-week contract assignment
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM)
- 36/48 rotating schedule
- Weekend work required every other weekend
- Floating required to all areas
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- No on-call requirement
- Epic charting system required
- Works with adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU patient populations
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- CRT or RRT certification required
- NRP certification required
- LA state license required if applicable
- ACLS, PALS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and high frequency oscillator
- Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
- Experience with arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, ECMO, COVID, and cystic fibrosis
- Neonatal/pediatric equipment experience preferred including bubble CPAP and oscillating ventilators
- Two recent manager references required for consideration
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
- Any work history gaps over 30 days must be explained
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy and neuro diagnostic services across multiple critical care settings
- Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care
- Assist with patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
- Complete pre-start facility education modules prior to assignment
- First-time travelers considered if minimum experience requirements are met
- Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
- Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
- Any license disciplinary history must be disclosed along with a personal statement
