Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a minimum of 2 years cath lab experience and OH or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Patient population includes adults undergoing left and right heart catheterizations, interventional catheterizations, and peripheral vascular cases
- Lab staffing ratio is 2 nurses and 1 tech; recovery area ratio is 2 nurses to up to 7 patients
- Uses specialized equipment including IABP, temporary pacemaker, permanent pacemaker, ICD, Micra, and Penumbra devices
- Performs procedures involving stents, balloons, and conscious sedation
- Charting systems used include Xper, Paragon, and Athena, with training provided
- Day shift schedule Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Call requirement of 8-9 call shifts per 4-week schedule
- On-call weekend requirement of 1 weekend per schedule (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 7:30 AM)
- No floating required outside of nuclear medicine for stress tests or sedation for biopsy procedures
- Daily assignment may vary between the cath lab and pre/post procedure area
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
- US citizenship required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization settings
- Monitor patients receiving procedural sedation and manage dysrhythmias as needed
- Scrubs are provided for this assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
