Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 10-bed flex pod requiring SC or compact RN licensure and floating across multiple specialty units.
Details
- 10-bed med-surg flex pod open Monday 7am through Friday 7pm
- Nurse will float among general medical, neuro, general surgery, orthopedics, medical and surgical cardiac, oncology, nephrology, and observation units
- Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
- All beds are telemetry capable with remote monitoring by telemetry technicians
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license (SC or compact) required
- BLS certification (AHA only) required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Experience with central lines, chest tubes, foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcer care, restraints, and fall risk management
Additional Information
- Conducts hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P's approach
- Performs patient assessments and implements nursing interventions per the plan of care
- Contributes to department performance through precepting and mentoring novice staff
- Participates in hospital-system initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices
- Understands proper storage and safety protocols for medications including large volume IVs and pre-packaged kits
