Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Flex Pod position requiring at least 1 year of experience and float availability across multiple specialty units.
Details
- 10-bed med-surg flex pod open Monday 7am through Friday 7pm
- Float coverage required across general medical, neuro, general surgery, orthopedics, medical and surgical cardiac, oncology, nephrology, and observation units
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
- All beds are telemetry capable with remote monitoring by telemetry technicians
- EMR system used is Epic
- Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30
- 13-week assignment length
- 3 positions available
Requirements
- Active RN license (SC or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- Nursys verification required within 30 days of start
- Primary source license verification with copy of state-specific registry required
Additional Information
- Conduct hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P's method
- Provide nursing care including management of central lines, chest tubes, foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and fall-risk patients
- Precept and mentor novice staff as part of department growth initiatives
- Participate in hospital-system initiatives supporting evidence-based nursing practices
- Maintain professional, compassionate care in accordance with facility Service Excellence Standards
