Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift role in a teaching hospital setting, requiring MN RN licensure and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• 13-week assignment with night shift (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Up to 4 out of 6 weekends required
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Epic (Excellian) EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage required
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Level 4 trauma teaching hospital with 29 staffed beds
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of pediatric and adult cases including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions

• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted only for radiology positions; all other positions require candidates live at least 100 miles from the facility
• Returning travelers must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days during the assignment
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or if previously employed as perm staff
