Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with NICU/PICU experience for a night shift position at a children's hospital, requiring floating across units.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care and NICU work settings
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend rotation, subject to change based on unit needs and RTO
• Floating required to different units depending on assignment needs
• Uses ventilator management equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, and G5 Hamilton Vent
• Performs medication delivery via aerosol setups, MDI, and nebulizer systems
• Administers medications including Albuterol and Nitric Oxide (iNO)

Requirements

• RRT certification required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP certification preferred
• OH state license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in NICU/PICU settings due to floating requirements
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Experienced in airway management, suctioning, and intubation assist
• Proficient in tracheostomy care and management
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric CPAP, Nasal CPAP/BiPAP, and oscillating ventilators
• 2 supervisory references required (charge nurse references do not qualify)

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients in NICU and pediatric critical care settings
• Perform sputum specimen collection and nasal/oral suctioning as part of patient care
• Work as part of a collaborative pediatric critical care team
• Floating to various units is a significant expectation of this role
• Makeup shifts within the same pay period may be requested for any call-out or absence
• Candidates who worked in a permanent position at this facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
• Local candidates are not permitted within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
