Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele PCU position requiring 2 years of Med Surg/Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 28-bed PCU with 20 telemetry and 8 step-down beds in a hospital setting
• Adult cardiac and med-surg patient mix including CAD, CHF, and NSTEMI diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 3-4 admissions per day
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm, 3 days per week at 36 hours
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required as needed, approximately 1 shift per pay period
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• 2 years of Med Surg and Telemetry nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in point of care testing, discharge planning, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Additional Information

• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Performs bedside point of care testing as part of patient care plans
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
• Participates in unit performance improvement and goal-setting activities
• Supports a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis
