Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 22-bed telemetry unit caring for complex patients, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients including CHF, stroke, ESRD, and post-op cases
• Patients are admitted from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of start
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, care coordination, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with case management and the healthcare team to facilitate timely and effective discharges
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation auditing
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
