Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 3+ years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care Med/Tele unit (K5) with 24 beds and a 6:1 patient ratio
• Patient population includes CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and med/surg telemetry diagnoses
• Unit has transitioned to a virtual integrated care (VIC) nursing model
• PCTs present at a 12:1 ratio, with tele monitor techs, Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators available for support
• RNs must be able to read telemetry strips
• Patients may require CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating required to all med/surg units
• Schedule is set by management; block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Strong communication and time management skills required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a telemetry-focused med/surg unit using a virtual integrated care nursing model
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Unit and department orientation provided, covering all med/surg tele units within the tower
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility within the associated health system in the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
