Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Labor & Delivery for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate/C-EFM certification.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with high-volume births (over 300/month)
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to the Ridgewood Observation Unit required as needed
• Required charting system: Meditech
• High risk antepartum, LDRP, and Level I Nursery coverage
• Performs amnioinfusion, vacuum/forceps extraction, C-section circulation and recovery, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Administers Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline, and other high-risk OB medications
• Utilizes external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (or NCC C-EFM)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience required
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80% (no retakes permitted)
• Current Nursys verification required for consideration
• Proficiency in EKG rhythm interpretation, heart rate calculations, and identification of arrhythmias and heart blocks required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and recovering post-op OB patients
• Provides antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including NSTs, lactation support, and newborn assessments
• Supports pain management including epidural and PCA administration
• Requires New Jersey employment verification for candidates who worked in NJ within the past 7 years
• Pre-employment lab work must begin within two business days of offer acceptance
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• No holiday time off approved, including 11/26-11/29, 12/24-12/25, and 12/31-1/1
• Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted at a reduced local rate
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
