Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a day shift travel assignment requiring 5+ years of experience and RRT or CRT certification.
Details
- Respiratory Therapy department in an 81-bed facility
- Treats adult, pediatric, and newborn (birthing center) patients
- Uses Fisher & Paykel Airvo 2, Respironics V60, Drager Evita Infinity V500, Getinge Servo-s, and Hamilton T1 ventilators
- Epic EMR used
- Day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
- Weekend coverage of 24 hours every other weekend
- Floating to Waldo County General Hospital as needed, within a 25-mile float policy between facilities
Requirements
- RRT or CRT certification (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 5 years of experience plus prior travel experience required
- BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Able to work independently
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required
Additional Information
- Work as part of a patient-centered, professional respiratory therapy team
- Scrubs of any color accepted; open-toe shoes and hats not permitted
- May be required to work holidays as needed
- First-time travelers not specified as eligible
- Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be minimized, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
- Candidates who worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this information

Pros
This hospital is hands down the least toxic hospital I have ever had the privilege of working. I absolutely love the people I work with. Everyone I come into contact with likes what they do and they do it with passion. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s close.
Cons
It’s a smaller hospital, so there’s a lot of critical care devices (CRRT, ECMO, etc) to work with like level 1 trauma centers have.
