Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 1 year of PCU/Tele experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the PCU/Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital with 255 staffed beds
• Care for acutely ill adult patients with cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, pulmonary, and other medical conditions
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45am-7:15pm)
• Weekend requirement of every other Saturday with Sundays off
• Meditech charting system used; experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/Telemetry nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• No prior travel experience required with qualifying PCU experience

Additional Information

• Coordinate direct patient care and provide patient education on a busy PCU/Tele unit
• Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed

• Fit testing required; candidates must be clean-shaven or provide an approved medical exemption letter prior to start
• Zero-tolerance drug policy in place; medical marijuana cards are not accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates who previously worked a permanent role at the facility within the last 24 months are not eligible
• RTO expectations scale with holidays falling during the assignment period
