Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a night shift position requiring an active NV RN license and 2+ years of Medical ICU experience.

Details

• Work in an 8-bed Medical ICU at a chest pain accredited center
• Unit staffed with 1 Critical Care Technician per shift
• No cath lab or IR services on-site, patients requiring these services are transferred to another campus
• ICU Charge RN also serves as the Rapid Response RN
• Set group of intensivists rotate weekly and are on-call 24/7 during the week
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s, 18:45-07:15
• 36 guaranteed weekly hours
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic for charting
• Floating to other units may be required based on competency level

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Recent travel experience preferred, minimum one 13-week assignment within the past year

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric ICU patients and their families
• Coordinate care with intensivists and other healthcare professionals
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays, with Eve + Day counting as 1 holiday
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Facility may cancel full or partial shifts with 48 hours notice for low census, without penalty
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible, local candidates not accepted
• A 13-week break is required between assignments for returning travelers
• Requested time off must be submitted with the application and will not be added to the end of the contract
