Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position at an acute care hospital requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and float pool availability.

Details

• 404-bed acute care hospital offering cardiovascular, neuroscience, women's health, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and oncology services
• Med Surg unit with telemetry monitoring
• 12-hour night shifts with 36 hours guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float to other units as part of a float pool
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg and Telemetry experience required
• Compact license not accepted

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and monitor condition trends throughout hospital stay
• Prepare, administer, and chart prescribed medications including IVs, and manage wound care or specialized equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and post-discharge instructions
• Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and respond swiftly to stabilize patients
• Navy blue scrub dress code
• Candidates residing within a 35-mile radius are considered local travelers and subject to reduced travel rate
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested during the assignment
