Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with NC or compact licensure for a night shift contract requiring critical care skills and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Details

Hospital-based General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric, non-trauma patients
Patient ratio of 1:5
Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Minimum of 8 weekend shifts required per contract plus holiday coverage as needed
Floating required as needed to any campus within the health system
Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the Emergency Department required
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, and IV starts
Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
Experience with CPAP/BiPAP management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
Triage experience required
Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
Current driver's license required for address verification

Additional Information

Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult/pediatric, non-trauma patient population
Responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation/EKG testing and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
Community hospital experience preferred
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates within that radius are not accepted
RTO must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
Candidates may be allowed to start with compliance items pending due to urgent need
