Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with Phase I PACU and cath lab recovery experience for a day shift position at a teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in the PACU unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours) with variable start times between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM
• Monday through Friday with call availability
• Flexibility to orient and work across all facility locations required
• Floating from preop to PACU required
• May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment if qualified

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Phase I PACU experience required
• Inpatient experience required
• Cath lab recovery experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Prior travel experience within the last 12 months required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Experience administering IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures including bariatrics, ENT, general, gyn, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, vascular, podiatry, robotics, and urology cases
• Care for patients recovering from various anesthesia types including general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, spinal, conscious sedation, and post-epidural management
• Knowledge of Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol, pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, and RASS required
• Experience with cardiovascular care including pacemaker insertion and post cath lab procedures
• Experience with care of ventilated patients and neurological monitoring including EVD and ICP monitoring
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• Time off is not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
