Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a CT or compact RN license and Trauma Level II experience.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Performs a broad range of general, gynecological, orthopedic, plastics, neurology, cardiovascular, vascular, urology, robotic, bariatric, and thoracic surgical procedures
- Uses Omnicell medication system, Cerner documentation system, and SBAR communication method
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:45a-3:15p) or 4x10 hours (6:45a-5:15p), 40 hours per week
- Weekend coverage required every third weekend
- Call required one weekday per week and one weekend per month (24-hour Sat/Sun coverage)
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with any charting system required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Proficient in specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, and urinary bladder catheterization
Additional Information
- Scrubs provided
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
- Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and subject to a reduced pay rate
