Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a GI Lab position requiring documented recovery experience and proficiency with Epic EMR.

Details

• Work in the GI Lab of a hospital setting
• Responsible for admitting patients, recovering patients in Phase II, and may assist in the procedure room
• Day shift with varying start times between 0730-0900
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Floating possible to Highland Park, Skokie, and Evanston GI labs

Requirements

• Active or temporary IL RN license required
• Current certifications: CPR and ACLS (American Heart preferred; American Red Cross accepted for BLS)
• Minimum 2 years of GI Lab experience required
• PACU, telemetry, and procedural recovery experience required
• Travel or PRN experience preferred
• New graduates will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• Must pass EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• Updated skills checklist and 2 current professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Admit and recover GI Lab patients, with possible involvement in the procedure room
• Orientation includes EKG testing, training modules, and Epic competency testing (approximately 6-8 hours)
• On-site EKG test required on Day 1 of orientation; must pass to continue the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break in service to be considered as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 8-week contract
