Description

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN with at least 1 year of ER experience and an active PA or Compact RN license for a hospital-based role.

Details

• Hospital-based Emergency Department, combined Adult/Pediatric
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5
• Rotating 3x12-hour Day/Night shifts (6:45am-7:15pm / 6:45pm-7:15am)
• Weekend coverage required every other week
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS
• Avade and/or CCM Training preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications and vasopressors
• Experience managing ventilated and BiPAP/CPAP patients preferred
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring preferred
• Experience managing psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience applying splints and managing orthopedic injuries
• Two supervisor references preferred
• SSN, DOB, RTO, and valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Responsible for identifying and reporting signs of neglect or abuse
• Candidates must be willing to work every other holiday
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address; local candidates not accepted
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Demographic sheet must be submitted within 48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• Approximately 1 hour of pre-start training modules required before entering the facility
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible
• Travelers are limited to a one-year cumulative assignment within the health system, followed by a mandatory two-year break before returning
• Only one facility within this health system may be considered at a time
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
