Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a CA license for a fast-paced Emergency Department requiring EPIC experience and ACLS/PALS certification.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients, non-trauma setting
• Stroke-certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening (3x12, 1p-1a) and Night (3x12, 7p-7a) shifts, with variable shift times including 4p-4a
• Uses Epic EMR
• Required to work every other weekend

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of ED RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency presentations including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and more
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line, central line, and blood product administration skills
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ABGs
• Experience with procedural sedation and IV vasopressor administration
• Skill in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
• Charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care for a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health cases
• Responsible for identifying and reporting suspected neglect or abuse
• Participate in cardiac monitoring and emergency response situations
• Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have solid 3 years of ED RN experience
• Local candidates accepted at local rate
• 50-mile radius rule applies
