Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Psychiatric RN for a dual-diagnosis behavioral health unit requiring CPI/MAB and Cerner experience.

Details

• Work on an 18-bed Dual Psych unit treating adults ages 19-55 with co-occurring addiction and mental health diagnoses
• Day shift ratio of 1:6 and night shift ratio of 1:8
• 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a, 36 hours per week on a 4-week schedule cycle
• Uses Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Unit supported by MHTs, unit clerk on days, charge nurse, phlebotomy, and a psych NP on days
• Floating required to like psych units, including Adolescent Psych and Adult Psych
• Weekend rotation of every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month on block schedule
• Holiday coverage expected for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• CPI/MAB/Secure certification required prior to start
• De-escalation skills required
• Minimum 1 year of travel experience required; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner EMR experience

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a dual-diagnosis psychiatric unit, incorporating addiction and mental health treatment
• New hires or those with over 1 year of experience complete 24 hours of classroom orientation and 36 hours on the unit
• Scrub color is open for RNs
• Parking available on-site
• Travelers may pick up overtime shifts
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Previous perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
