Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a day shift hospital role requiring 2+ years of experience and hospital-wide float coverage.

Details

• Hospital-wide respiratory therapy coverage across the entire facility
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-7:30)
• Works every other weekend
• Block scheduling allowed
• Mandatory floating required, including coverage as a Patient Observer (sitter)
• ICU staff may float to PCU or MS units
• PCU staff may float to MS or ICU units
• MS staff may float to MS/Tele
• Pediatrics staff may float anywhere in the organization as a Patient Observer
• Post-Partum staff may float to MS units
• L&D staff may float within Maternal/Child units
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
• Active MO state license or Compact license required in hand at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Must be able to work in a 24/7 healthcare facility with exposure to contagious illnesses

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and pediatric critical care settings
• Perform ventilator management, airway management, and ABG interpretation and sampling
• Administer a range of respiratory medications and manage various delivery systems
• Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and COVID
• Support neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures including CPAP, ECMO, and oscillating ventilation where applicable
• Participate in rotating shifts, including holidays and during inclement weather
• Required to work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
