Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, high risk antepartum, and GYN surgery patients
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Uses Epic EMR
- Floating required to Postpartum and possibly L&D at a sister facility
- Performs circulating, OB-GYN, Post-Op, Pre-Op, and Scrub duties
- Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS certification preferred
- Travel experience required
- Experience with blood/blood product administration, central line maintenance, and high-risk medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate)
- Experience circulating and recovering C-sections
- Experience with epidural anesthesia, PCA pumps, and pain management
- Skilled in fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
- Skilled in triage of obstetrical patients and antepartum/postpartum care
Additional Information
- Care for low and high risk antepartum and labor & delivery patients including couplet care and transition nursery support
- Teaching hospital environment with strong staff camaraderie, book clubs, and group dinners
- Unit requires coverage of only 1 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year's/Eve)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless applying as a local candidate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month separation, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
- May be required to float to sister facilities within the system
