Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II trauma center experience and a CA RN license in hand.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a Level II Trauma Center, providing care for combined adult and pediatric populations
• Works evening shift (3x12 hours), 1500-0300
• Weekend shifts required per department needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital based on census
• Documentation via EPIC

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand required
• Minimum 2.5 years of experience in a large Level II trauma center required
• Large volume ER experience (90K+ annual visits) preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Epic charting experience required
• One professional reference required (within 2 years)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across trauma, cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and pediatric cases, including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, and near drownings
• Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
• Pre-approved time off must be submitted for consideration and cannot be added afterward
• Holiday time off cannot be guaranteed at this time
• First-time travelers are accepted with the required 2.5 years of experience
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for consideration
