Description

American Traveler is seeking a NICU Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of pediatric experience for a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• Work in the NICU with floating to General Pediatrics and PICU based on census
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Manages Bubble CPAP, HFOV, HFJV, Servo U, and Astral Home Ventilators
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• On-call required every other rotation
• Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis, Accudose, and Omnicell for medication delivery

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with pediatric experience required
• PICU, NICU, or General Pediatrics experience preferred
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• RRT certification preferred
• State license required if applicable
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required, obtained within the last 2 years

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients including ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene
• Perform procedures such as intubation assist, extubation, suctioning, and arterial blood gas draws
• Participate in high-risk delivery assistance and neonatal inter-departmental transports
• Care for patients with conditions including BPD, RDS, RSV, ARDS, and cystic fibrosis
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates accepted, though at a different pay rate
• Requested time off must be submitted prior to consideration, with no additional RTO accepted afterward
