Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN with a CA license and Trauma Level I ICU experience for a day-shift assignment requiring prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro/Surgical Intensive Care Unit of a Trauma Level I hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Floating required to Med/Surg (1:5 ratio) and ED holding based on census
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses EPIC for documentation

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including 2 years as non-travel staff at a facility
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, and port access/management
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience managing CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure patients
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Neurological care experience including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, TBI, and spinal cord injury care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring
• Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management
• Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
• Phlebotomy skills required
• 1 professional reference required within the past 2 years
• Current Nursys report required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients including neuro and surgical cases
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Requested time off must be submitted in advance and cannot be added later
• Previous permanent staff at the facility are not eligible for this position
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
