Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit position requiring an OH or compact RN license and telemetry experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) setting within a hospital
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• 13 or 18 week winter contract options available
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must float to other units within specialty cluster or support nursing care teams as needed, including High Risk Respiratory/COVID units
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Traveler is typically first to float at facility discretion

Requirements

• Active OH state RN license or compact RN license accepted (license not required in hand to apply, but must be obtained before contract start)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Must pass an online EKG/Telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response required

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Participate in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team activities as needed
• Up to 24 hours of orientation modules required
• Lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Maximum RTO of 14 days allowed per contract, with no schedule requests negotiable after an offer is made
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying, pending facility rehire approval
• First-time travelers may be considered as travel experience is not required
