Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience for a short-term acute care hospital requiring circulating skills and a minimum of 3 years of OR experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit with 21 rooms and an average daily census of 70-80 patients
• Covers General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, and Colorectal Robotics surgical specialties
• Day shift schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• On-call requirement of 40-60 hours per 6-week period, which can vary
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital to meet facility needs
• Circulating duties required, scrub duties preferred
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic procedures

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required (may be reduced to 2 years with at least 1 year of Level I trauma experience)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Experience with orthopedic and ortho/spine procedures including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reductions, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and total joint replacement
• Robotics experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• 2 supervisor references required
• RN education must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrubs provided by facility
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted at a lower pay rate for this Surgical Services position
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility before reaching the one-year mark (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
