Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 3 years of experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• LDRP unit caring for laboring patients from 35 weeks gestation, postpartum, and newborn care
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
• 12-week assignment length
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend unless otherwise specified
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide labor and delivery care including assisting with vaginal deliveries and postpartum management
• Provide newborn care including assessments, car seat education, discharge teaching, and circumcision site care
• Support postpartum procedures including fundus/lochia/perineum care, couplet care, and management of postpartum hemorrhage
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support following baby-friendly protocols
• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy, including starting and maintaining IVs and use of infusion pumps
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous Piedmont staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or deemed not returnable must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
