Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring WV or compact RN license and 2+ years of stepdown/telemetry experience.

Details

• Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit setting with Progressive Care/Telemetry-acuity patients
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 in emergencies
• Shift schedule is 3x12 or 4x12 nights, 7p-7a, weekdays with some weekends
• Blocked schedules considered for weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Charting system used is Cerner

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• 1 year of MS/Tele experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Skilled in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Care for Stepdown/Progressive Care patients with varying acuity levels, including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions
• Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
• Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white required
• First-time travelers not required for this role
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
• Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility, with 75-100 miles considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Previous license probationary actions reviewed on a case-by-case basis
