Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit role requiring FL or compact licensure and Epic charting experience.

Details

• PCU setting with cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, and stepdown-level patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Required to work every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to other units or nearby facility locations with a home base assigned
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/telemetry experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with central/peripheral line care, PICC management, and IV therapy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31) with medical or religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide care for patients with cardiac, neurological, renal, and gastrointestinal conditions in a progressive care setting
• Responsibilities may include wound care, insulin titration, and management of isolation precautions
• Scrubs of any color accepted, but tops and bottoms must match with no logos or prints
• Free parking available with a decal provided at orientation
• Travel experience is required for this position; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Former employees or contracted staff must wait at least one year after separation before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers with no radius restriction
• Travel pairs permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
• RTO requests must be submitted prior to consideration and will be reviewed during the interview process
