Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with at least 2 years of experience in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures in a community hospital setting.

Details

• Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and arrhythmias
• Performs 25-35 invasive cath procedures per day
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Procedures include balloon angioplasty, PCI, stent placement, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, rotablator atherectomy, and EP studies/ablations
• Additional procedures include CSI atherectomy, IABP, ACIST, OCT, IVUS, Angiojet, radial/ulnar/femoral access, and PV lab procedures such as fistula and pedal access interventions
• Uses EPIC-CUPID and XPER Witt for hemodynamic monitoring
• Uses fluoroscopy and Philips equipment
• 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call required as needed
• Floating required to any Cone Health campus in the event of a COVID surge

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• RCIS or RCES certification strongly preferred
• License required if applicable
• Active license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Community hospital experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
• Proficiency in scrub and EKG lead placement
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
• Experience with carotid stenting, dialysis graft interventions, and endovascular interventions preferred
• Experience with TAVR, Watchman, and permanent pacemaker insertion preferred
• Driver's license required to verify address for radius compliance

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, equipment setup, prepping access sites, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Recognition and management of life-threatening arrhythmias required
• Experience with isolation precautions, PPE, infection control, and sterile technique required
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, and no local rates apply
