Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2 years of current PICU experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• PICU unit within a pediatric teaching hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• 8-week assignment length
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• Unit will request a makeup shift within the same pay period for any call out or absence

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH State or Compact) required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS (AHA only); ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required (not CVPICU)
• Prior travel RN experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills required include respiratory care (ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, cardiovascular monitoring, and GI/GU care as outlined for PICU patients
• 2 supervisory/manager-titled references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within the PICU, including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and GI/GU management
• Floating to other units is a standard expectation and point of emphasis at this facility
• No RTO permitted during this assignment
• Must be willing to sign for an 8-week contract and able to start by 11/16 or 12/7
• Candidates who have worked permanently for this facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
• No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
• First-time travelers with closer to 3 years of PICU experience and recent Level 1 trauma experience will be considered
